Who Are We?

Since many visitors may only be in Dubrovnik for a few days, we wanted to give those guests a peek into how special the cuisine and culture is in this spectacular country. It isn’t just about us and the food, it is about the soul of the city and the people and products behind it.

Our small team is passionate about all things related to food and drink here in Croatia, and we started Croatia Food Tours to share that passion and give our guests to get an insider’s view into the real Croatia.

By combining each member’s respective backgrounds and skills, the Croatia Food Tour team is ready to give all our lucky guests a truly special and one-of-a-kind tour filled with memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.

RICHARD GRUICA 

Founder

Embracing his roots in Croatia, Richard Gruica created Captivating Croatia with the dream of sharing authentic experiences that explore the incredibly rich and varied cuisine of Croatia. He is a longtime member of the Slow Food movement and was a guest speaker at the 2014 Terra Madre Balkan Conference, at which he saw the immense beauty and diversity of Croatia, ultimately igniting the fuel for Captivating Croatia.

Richard’s extensive research has led him on paths to some of the finest examples of tradition, craft, and small production, but more significantly, to the people that have a true passion for what they do.
